Brett Cummings
Chief Executive Officer

As CEO and a member of the board at Left Coast Ventures, Brett is committed to driving our mission forward to legitimize and define the future of legal cannabis. Previously, Brett was a consultant for Privateer Holdings and a Partner and CFO at 8VC / Formation8 where he was responsible for all financial, operational, and legal matters of the firm and funds. During Brett’s 7 years at Formation8 / 8VC, he helped the company raise and manage over $3B in assets under management. Brett spent five years as CFO at CMEA Capital and managed six funds with $1.2 billion in assets under management. Brett started his career in the Audit and Business Advisory Services team at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in New York and San Francisco, primarily focusing on insurance and investment management clients.

Brett received dual degrees in Finance and Accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Brett earned his CPA in 2006 and is a member of the AICPA and California CPA Society.


Vince Tsai
Chief Financial Officer

Vince is responsible for shaping the long-term strategy and creating a pipeline for growth through organic and acquisitive strategies, assessing operational effectiveness and efficiencies, managing Left Coast Ventures cash flow, and managing financial and investor relationships.

Most Recently, Vince served as Chief Investment Officer of ONEHOPE Inc. Previously, he was CFO and VP of Business Operations at Leeo, Inc., and held leadership roles at Hercules Capital, The Enthusiast Network, Macquarie Capital, and Deutsche Bank. He earned Degrees at Columbia Business School and Princeton University.


Ryan Markley
Vice President, Operations & Compliance

Ryan oversees all operations throughout the supply chain including cultivation, procurement, product development, manufacturing, logistics and distribution. He ensures bottom line growth through continuous process analysis and improvement, effective business development, robust quality management, and legal compliance.

With a background rooted in social justice, Ryan executes on his convictions that cannabis must be an accessible, mainstream product consumed safely by mainstream people. A lawyer by trade, Ryan earned his Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara Law, and his degree in Business Administration from American University. Ryan is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.


Ann Peltz
Vice President, Marketing

Ann is responsible for building marketing plans that achieve Left Coast Ventures’ long-term growth goals, developing a strategic portfolio of cannabis and hemp products, identifying key areas of growth through new brands or line extensions, and executing marketing initiatives that align with brand objectives.

Previous to joining Left Coast Ventures, Ann was VP Marketing for a wine D2C business, The Perfect Sip, managed the world’s largest wine brand at E&J Gallo Winery (Barefoot Wine & Bubbly), owned and operated her own marketing strategy consulting firm, and ran corporate branding at Shaklee, the largest natural nutrition company in the U.S. She earned her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from St. Mary’s College of California.


Cristian Groh
Board of Directors

Christian’s combination of professional accomplishments and business vision give Privateer Holdings a uniquely well-positioned partner. His more than 10 years of strategic sales, operations, and management experience has consistently been in new commercial frontiers and instrumental in the emerging legal cannabis industry.

Director of Sales at SVB Analytics. Christian was pivotal in growing its client base from 200 to 2500. He specialized in early stage, venture-backed companies focused on hardware, software, life science, and clean tech.

Advisor for AB 223 Compassionate Use Act of 1996 (Hon. Tom Ammiano). This bill would make findings and declarations regarding medical marijuana, as well as provide that it is the intent of the Legislature to improve the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 and the states' medical marijuana program by establishing a comprehensive and multidisciplinary commission that is empowered to address issues regarding the legality and implementation of the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 and the states' medical marijuana law.

Director at Nextel Communications. Christian created the corporation’s national affinity marketing program. He served as a subject matter expert in Transportation/Logistics' vertical partnering with key industry associations through speaking engagements, conferences, and sponsorships, elevating Nextel’s position as the premier wireless solutions provider.

Christian is married with two children. He has competed professionally in mountain biking.


Michael Blue
Board of Directors

Michael’s finance expertise and business management talents are honed by more than a decade in investment banking, private equity, and consulting. Beyond his executive role in acquisitions and investments, his career has immersed him in nearly every aspect of business development and operations, across a spectrum of consumer and B-to-B industries.

Principal at Herrington, Inc. Michael joined Herrington, Inc., a private equity and development firm, in 2006 and led a range of development and business ventures for the firm. As COO of Ridge Capital Partners and COO of Gaillardia Development Company, Michael was responsible for planning, marketing, and operating both development projects and existing companies across the country.

Vice President at de Visscher & Company. During his time at de Visscher & Company, a private equity, investment banking, and consulting firm based in Greenwich, CT, Michael led major assignments in the valuation, refinance, acquisition, and sale of publicly traded as well as privately held companies. His experience in a variety of industries includes software development, healthcare, energy, real estate, textiles, retail, and hospitality.
